The Village of Homewood is looking for volunteers to help marshal the upcoming Homewood International Cycling Classic (HICC) scheduled for Sunday, July 10 during Homewood Days.
The Race is the third leg of the 17-day International Cycling Classic Superweek Pro Tour, attracting category 1 and 2 riders – these are the cyclists who go on to compete in races like the Tour de France. The route is in downtown Homewood.
Races start at 10:00 AM and end close to 8:00 PM with a 100K – about 60 miles – for professional and elite amateur cyclists competing for top prize. Riders come from all over the world to compete in Superweek, the longest-running multi-day bicycle race in the U.S. and the world’s largest multi-category cycling event.
Visit internationalcycling.com to learn more about this 43 year cycling event.
Marshals are the key to insuring both cyclists and spectators are safe. Marshals will be scheduled for four hour shifts and stationed at designated spots throughout the route.
Volunteers will receive marshal duties, race route, and an official marshal event tee shirt. Those interested should contact the Village Manager’s Office at (708) 206-3375, or email rcjones@homesweethomewood.com.

Nice. Those riders are not quite Tour de France material but still good Pros and Cat 1 and 2 amateurs. Still a good show for cycling aficionados and others.
