I saw Charles Rayburn (thank you for providing his name) bulling one of the volunteers before the the debate started and he created the disruption in the stands, definitely not how we want the 2nd District portrayed on the national debate.
On a more general note, can you imagine a debate with 22 panel members? It would either last for days, or only allow for one question & a wrap up each.

The BCO and the WPC developed two candidate forums, one with 19 candidates in 2004 and another with 29 candidates in 2008, both in the 32nd Ward. It went just fine. I asked the CPD to provide 2 policemen. We invited all candidates and they all pretty much came. I don't believe in excluding anyone which is a requirement of a not-for-profit organization. CHARLES RAYBURN would like to let June Whitehand know that she is no June Cleaver.
June is also a supporter of one of the "SHAMELESS" (5) who refused to say anything about the injustice of organizers who tried to punk out MR. RAYBURN once he arrived on time ready to debate, by telling him his seat was in the audience as a "SPECTATOR" and not at the debate table.
Everyone quickly found out that unlike June, Mr. RAYBURN is neither a bully, upset, nor a punk.
Mr. RAYBURN saw this as a teachable moment; after all this debate was sponsored by students. Candidate RAYBURN let the students know in advance who he is, what the organizers were trying to do, and what his lawfull response would be.
Rich South (a public high school that candidate RAYBURN pays taxes to keep open) attempted to bully him into seating in the audience as a "SPECTATOR" rather than at the debate table as a candidate.
The students loved the way MR. RAYBURN chose to address this injustice and stated that MR. RAYBURN who stood up for his rights as a candidate will fight for their rights and their parents rights in congress. (more to come)

@Pam,
It would be easier to take you seriously if you used correct spelling. I find it interested that you you attempted to insinuate that I am "demeaned" in any of the places you listed.
I found Charles Rayburn's behavior embarrassing at best, childish at worst!
Another candidate, the first to arrive was also not an invited panelist at this debate. Did he rant and rave for over an hour or bully (and yes here is where you could properly use the word demean) an adult volunteer because he thought she would be afraid of him? NO!
I wish I knew his name, he responded with class and gave our young people someone to look up to, not be embarrassed by. He was equally unhappy over the situation, but instead of acting like a fool, he put out his campaign material, smiled, and shook the hand of everyone as they entered the auditorium.
So who do you think of those two candidates earned more votes that evening?

@Joe,
That is great & I would love to see a debate with all candidates present, but this one organized by students (not a NPO) chose to use this format. Perhaps we can hope that next time this group attempts a debate they will feel confident to expand the format.
Does anyone know how many candidates will be at the debate in Peotone this weekend?
