Anyone who’s spent time in a waiting room anxiously watching the second hand on the click slowly tick closer and closer to the appointment you’ve been dreading for months, listen up.

Walking into Dr. Lisa Grant's new facility at 18243 Harwood in Homewood is much more like walking into an Apple store than an orthodontist's office—except nicer.

Cool, modern tones and smooth rounded shapes prevail in this über-contemporary office. Yet, it doesn't feel cold or sterile. On the contrary, Grant's new location just might make you look forward to a visit to the orthodontist.

"We have an outstanding team," Office Manager Robin McElligott says of Dr. Grant and her seven employees. "It's a family atmosphere. When you come in, it's warm and exciting." 

Work on the new office started last spring, according to Grant. Prior to opening only two weeks ago on July 16, she had spent the past 19 years serving the H-F community in her downtown Flossmoor office.

“I was looking for a new location so we could expand and be more efficient … we were looking for something a little bit more spacious,” Grant said.

Beyond the impressive aesthetics, Grant says her new state of the art office is allowing her to do more for her patients than ever before.

“We have the ability, now, to be much more efficient with our scheduling. We can see more patients, we’ve offered extended hours (and the new building) supports all of our high-end technology,” Grant said. “It’s beyond my expectations. It turned out exactly the way I wanted it.”
