Homewood Man Allegedly Vandalizes Apollo Park; Throws Bricks Through Car Window
Homewood man arrested on two separate criminal damage charges Sunday.
Daniel Sulek, 23, 1717 W. 187th Street, reportedly had quite a Sunday morning, May 13. He and Michael Davlantis, 23, 1035 W. 186th Street, Homewood, were charged with criminal damage to government-supported property after Sulek drove a blue Ford pick-up truck onto the grass and fields at Apollo Park, 1050 W. 191st Street, causing an estimated $2,000 damage. A witness told police Sulek drove onto the north end of the main football field at 6:27 a.m. and did “donuts” by revving his engine, spinning his truck around and tearing up the grass. He then allegedly made more donuts on the infield of the north softball field, police said. The witness said he followed Sulek to his house and called police.
Sulek was arrested later, but not before allegedly doing $2,000 damage to a vehicle that was parked in the 18400 block of Hood Avenue, police said. Sulek, this time apparently on his own, flattened all four of the vehicle’s tires and threw five landscaping blocks through five of the vehicle’s seven windows, according to the police report. He was arrested around 8 a.m. and charged with criminal damage to a vehicle.
Police report information is provided by the Homewood Police Department and other law enforcement agencies. Charges are not evidence of guilt. They are a record of police actions on a given day, and persons charged with a crime are presumed innocent until proven guilty in court. If you or a family member are charged or cited and the case is subsequently adjudicated, we encourage you to notify the editor. We will verify and report the outcome.

The pair also ( allegedly) pulled a similar stunt the same morning at Sargent Means Park in Olympia Fields, doing $35,000 in damage to that park. The damage to Apollo park was more in the $10,000 range.

I want to shout out to the person who followed them and reported them! While it probably wasn't a wise decision on the personal safety scale, props to you for reporting them to the police so that they could be appropriately apprehended!
