Porn Truck Driver Begins Supervision Hearings
Steven Dutton's one-year supervision is scheduled to end in November.
Steven Dutton nearly cried last year as he pleaded guilty to disorderly conduct for trying to lure a teenage girl into porn-laden truck. He looked relieved when Judge Thomas O’Hara said jail time was too harsh a punishment for a man with no criminal history. Then he looked to his family for some clarification about what had just happened.
After four months, O’Hara has found Dutton in compliance thus far with the terms of his one-year supervision. Those terms restrict Dutton to the grounds of the Sertoma Centre, a physical and mental health facility where he has been living and undergoing therapy, according to his attorney, Jeff Aprati.
Last June, Dutton approached a girl walking alone near Riegal Oak Lane and 186th Place and began asking questions about whether she had a boyfriend and whether she needed a ride. He drove away after the girl told him she lived close by, but then circled back, causing her to fear for her safety and dial 911.
In his pickup truck, Homewood police found—among other things—pornography, rope, whips, dildos, women's underwear and a dashboard modified to include handcuffs. He told officers that his intentions had been innocent and reiterated that sentiment in court after putting his sentencing in O'Hara's hands.
Another hearing is scheduled Aug. 15 at the Sixth Municipal District Courthouse in Markham.
If all goes well, Dutton’s supervision ends November 2012.

So far it seems like Dutton is doing well with his supervision. If his behavior continues, it will end come November.
How do you feel about that?

This guy is a pre-predator who got caught early, or perhaps he has victims out there, that have not yet come to light. Those who think that a few months' supervision will correct this situation, must have just fallen off the dildo truck!

Like all people in this situation, he needs and I hope he gets, some medical attention/supervision/treatement. This is a disease that needs attention. If not, well, good chance are that this bad behaviour can resurface.

I think the supervision should last longer, and perhaps a family member should be responsible for that supervision to avoid taxpayers having to foot the bill. I think that this man is a crime just waiting to happen. I hope the truck he was using is no longer equipped with handcuffs, etc.

A disease that needs attention? I disagree. I don't believe there is rehabilitation for child molesters and sexual predators. It's very worrisome
