Ryan, 42, has served in the House of Representatives for 14 years, currently chairing the House Budget Committee and serving on the House Ways and Means Committee. In January 2010, Ryan gained attention nationwide after unveiling his "Roadmap for America’s Future."

Paul Ryan to young people: We'll save the nation from bankruptcy so you can enjoy a future as good as your parents and grandparents. Barack Obama to young people: Free birth control because we can't afford any more people! Yay!

And "young people" no more college loans for you... "seniors" a check to pay your doctor's bills yourself. Can't figure out the bills without help?... not the government's problem. Ryan says that, too.

Romney has made a much more intelligent selection for a VP than what happened 4 years ago!! Kudos to him. Last election the Republicans lost mostly because of the terrible choice that was made for the VP choice of Sarah Palin. Could anyone see Sarah Palin as President? Not me!!

Again, a VP choice that is more of a lightening rod than the Pres candidate.

This country is in trouble simply because of our "leaders" unwilling or unable to get along in congress mostly due to the Tea Party and to the leaders of the Democratic party to compromise. Nancy Pelose needs to go!! The Tea party needs to go!!

It is about time a plan will be seen that shores up those over 55 and provides for a future for younger Americans. At the very least the American Public will be educated and can put the pressure on any party that is in office. Budgets are very simple. Everyone in America runs an individual budget. Some are run like the government in debt and others are run correctly. But we chastise the people who run good budgets and call them "rich" an want to tax them more.

I would've preferred rubio. But picking ryan was bold and sends a clear message that he is committed to the budget process and less government. I also think ryan helps Romney get some balls that he's going to need to beat obama hopefully. It's gonna get ugly and unfortunately this team is gonna need to get uglier. It sure is going to be an interesting couple months.

Not for me. Ryan is too extreme. We seriously need a third party that can do more than just be a spoiler. I'm considering Rocky Anderson, even though he has almost no chance, especially in our corrupt, two-party system that's bought and paid for by corporate interests. Still, Anderson represents my values far better than the major-party candidates and he has a long, proven track record of honesty, integrity, and commitment to the rule of law. For people disgusted with both major parties, research Anderson as an alternative. A strong showing would send an important message even though it would take a miracle for him to win.

The current two party system is locked in a play ground game of king of the hill instead of trying to solve the problems of the average American.

In the words of his own House leader John Boehner (referring to a certain incumbent President of the United States), Ryan has never had a real job, for God's sake.

This is admittedly from a far-right commentator, but it can't be denied that the president's Oppo research hit squad will seek to destroy whatever they find in Romney's returns; so even if they are clean as a whistle the better option would be to refuse to produce them. BTW we're still waiting on the report cards, SAT & LSAT Scores, and thesis, and never-published law Review articles of the guy currently in the office; its pretty rare, even in the diversity -obsessed Academy, to graduate college without honors and be accepted to Harvard Law: http://www.nysun.com/new-york/obamas-years-at-columbia-are-a-mystery/85015/

I'm going to vote for a candidate that could get more than 0 votes on his budget. I still don't understand why the two times that The President had his budget brought to a vote, he couldn't even get one vote from The Democrats. Not one! I thinks that is a record!
