Apparently Patch has been reporting on Congressman Jesse Jackson Jr. a lot. Go figure.
Because Patch has covered Jackson's 2012 rollercoaster ride so extensively, Huff Post Live's Marc Lamont Hill asked Chicago Heights Patch Editor Chris Paicely to share his thoughts about the 2nd District.
Patch readers have expressed plenty of outrage over the congressman's re-election, Paicely said, but there have also been a few who are more sympathetic toward his current struggles.
What are your thoughts on Patch's contribution to the conversation?

Yay for Chris! Good job! Too bad Huff couldn't interview someone who DID vote for him, instead of a woman who they THOUGHT voted for him, but didn't, and then admitted she hadn't been paying attention to local elections. But still, Chris, way to represent the Southland!

I completely agree with all of this.

I thought Chris, by far, was the most thoughtful and articulate person interviewed. The other three were repeating all the overused cliche rhetoric we have heard for what seems like ages.

Thanks, Bruce. The whole Jesse situation is difficult to discuss, mainly because so much of it is speculation. Hopefully we'll get some real facts about what's going on with the congressman soon.

This is completely crazy!! First off, why are we having this debate whether to feel sympathy or not for JJJ? He has shown time and time again that he has no regard for representing the voters of the 2nd District. Never once has he came out and asked the voters for time or understanding. Rather his done this through underlings. Like were not a priority. He isn't incapacitated! Then the Huffington Post, who I use to respect, brings on a white lady to show that even the whites people voted for him, only to find out she isn't even in his district!! We are not a stupid district, the 2nd that is. Why do we debate something that in a different area would be cut and dry? He isn't around, he is under federal investigation arranging a plea deal, he hasn't made a public comment in months. What is there to continue and wonder?

Good job Chris. As already said, you had the best handle on the facts.
Becca was the prototype JJJ voter (even though she is not in the district) She said: she would have voted for him, she has not been following what is going on with him, she has sympathy for him and his family, he should not be in office if he is not representing his constituents but she would have still voted for him. How disconnected is she? Vote for any democrat "just because"?
BTW, she voted for Bobby Rush, The US rep with a rap sheet. - Perfect!

These are all things that you http://www.coachoutletonlinegg.com/ should know about America. http://www.coachoutletonlineaol.net/ I also know that we have much to http://www.coachfactoryoutletwy.com/ learn about China. Looking http://www.coachoutletstorefc.com/ around at this magnificent http://www.coachoutletaol.org/ city -- and looking around http://www.coachfactoryonlineest.net/ this room -- I do believe http://www.coachfactoryoutletpst.com/ that our nations hold something http://www.coachfactoryoutlettx.com/ important in common, and that is http://www.coachfactoryonlinefc.org/ a belief in the future. http://www.coachoutletwy.com/ Neither the United States nor China http://www.coachoutletonlineybw.com/ is content to rest on our achievements. For while China is an ancient nation, you are also clearly looking ahead with confidence, ambition, and a commitment to see that tomorrow's generation can do better than today's.
