Homewood Casino Meeting Tonight At the Irwin Center
It's not too late to submit questions via Homewood's online submission form for tonight's informative meeting about the village's casino development project.
Residents will get a chance to learn more about Homewood’s casino development project tonight, Dec. 17 at the Irwin Center, 18120 Highland Ave.
The village, along with East Hazel Crest, will hold a public meeting at 7:30 p.m. to “introduce the public to the gaming and entertainment development being sought by both villages,” according to a press release.

There will also be a question-answering segment at the end of the presentation.
The villages are asking all questions be submitted online via this form no later than 3 p.m., Monday Dec. 17.

You've probably already seen it, but I posted an article today regarding public input. Essentially, they are saying the entire project is too early in its development to address the details of many questions. Right now, all the answers are rather general. The good news is, once (or rather, if) gambling legislation passes, the village will be soliciting public input during the request for proposals drafting process. That will be the time to let them know your thoughts on this.

Since Homewood & Flossmoor homeowners are paying high property taxes for the HF schools, will Flossmoor also benefit from the casino to help reduce its taxes or just Homewood? I have to short-sale my Homewood home in order to keep my Flossmoor home after both of their taxes increased.
It's not fair to HF homeowners paying for good schools that allow non-residents to abuse the "system" that blames our schools instead of being or held accountable for their own child if he/she is disruptive to avoid learning, sell drugs on campus or steal our investments!
