Homewood Jewel-Oscos to Change Owners

Parent company Supervalu is selling the chain to New York based Cerberus group.

 

A group of investors headed by Cerberus Capital Management is expected to buy Jewel-Osco and several associated stores from current parent company Supervalu for $3.3 billion, according to the Chicago Tribune

The move comes after long-term speculation, according to the article. Supervalu reported a loss of over one billion dollars for fiscal year 2012, the article says. Read the full story
