Honestly, Whole Foods is way too expensive for me to shop there. But Trader Joe's is.reasonable, and I would put all our efforts towards that one.

We want you in our area, Trader Joe's - the sooner, the better! I'm just one of many area residents who drives all the way to Orland Park to shop Trader Joe's.

p.s. So glad you don't have flat screen, or any screen TVs in your stores, TJ's, or those self-checkout lanes either. Great food, great prices, perfectly-sized stores, lots of organics and gluten-free selections, GMO-free house brand, and good old fashioned human interaction instead of electronic audio and video assaults are among many reasons I go out of my way for TJ's, but having you in our neighborhood would be so much better.

Having a Trader Joe's in our community would be awesome!

I understand that Trader Joe's has done a market study in the past, and they discounted the Homewood area as a place for a possible store. Maybe if we show enough interest they will come. I don't think that Cherry Creek would be a good location, because there is no room or empty spaces, however, what about the Glenwood Plaza? Does E 1 know that Trader Joes and Aldis are owned by two brothers from Germany? They are both German companies who are very successful in Europe, and also here in the US. I hope they will come here.

Trader Joe's follows the market, and the market here is trending Link card/future food desert. If Hofeld wants to attract upscale retailers he first needs to attract upscale residents. Judging from the number of tarp covered cars and unmowed lawns and police victim blaming I am seeing he is not willing to put in the hard work necessary to improve the lives of residents, as opposed to trying for "economic development" which makes his life easier (in the short term) when making his budget, In the long term the focus needs to be on lifestyle/residential development. But these local politico types do not have the tools to recognize and adapt to this......

I just see your overgrown lawn which you evidently cannot properly maintain. Fear not, there is something for people who can't maintain their yards-- it's called a "condominium." But don't worry, the Village officials are too busy chasing upscale retailers to notice the eyesores all around......

We would love to have a Trader Joe's, in Homewood, I tired of driving to Orland Park and the gas prices don't help. We have lived in Homewood for 41 Years!!!!
I will go banana's if we get one, plus buy all my banan's from Trader Joe's.

Jeanna I love this area more than anyone. But wishing we had the same stores as Hinsdale or Evanston wont make it so, and calling mediocre, unidimensional leaders wonderful doesn't make them so. The community remains a nice place for a family, but lots of once wonderful communities are not any longer. Can our leaders successfully manage change and stem decline? We'll see. I was told by a local businessman that we don't have enough population density for this type of store. I would love to see one too but Homewood Flossmoor has 30,000 residents. Does Trader Joe accept link? Im not joking and Im not trying to be offensive. Link cards are fine, Im just saying they are heavily used everywhere from Walt's to Jewel to Wal-mart etc.

I even saw a lady use a link card at Costco link cards are every where. If they put a Trader Joes in Homewod people would come Fromm all of the surround. Communitites to shop. There is CC hills, Hazel Crest, Matteson, Chgo. Heights, Glenwood, Richton Park, Park Forest&,Olylmpia Fields,. I agree with the earlier statement " Homewood could be similar to Evanston or Oak Park. The downtown area has a lot of potential to become greater than it already is... :) Let's go Homewood.

Homewood needs to find a creative way to make it worth TJ's time and efforts. I do think many would drive from the surrounding areas to come into shop. What a great way to rejuvenate Glenwood Plaza there is an entire parking lot empty - forget Cherry creek it's too crowded now. Glenwood plaza could get a facelift and other retail businesses would open there as well if TJ's was there. Easy access off the highway - lots of folks would exit and pass by all the other stores too. Maybe people need to start talking to TJ's about helping communities not just their profits.

We love homewood! I have many friends and coworkers who drive from Indiana to TJ in Orland. They'd come here. Many already do come here for dinner at Brewery or Gradys or Twisted Q or Cilantro or to hop on Metra. We'd be even more of a necessary destination for more people with TJ.

Homewood - Flossmoor is a great area.
The mayors of HF should work together w/ Glenwood & surrounding areas because there getting rundown.
That's why these businesses won't ever give HF area a try.
It's very unfortunate.

The mayor should force the owners of that old Clark gas station and the old giordanos pizza to be torn-down.

The 80/94 exchange on Halsted is the way to market Homewood when it comes to businesses like Trader Joe's, not just H/F residents, but a great pull from the entire eastern side of the 80 corridor.
