Jackson Jr. Leaves Mayo Clinic, Intentions Unclear

The recently re-elected Congressman is reportedly leaving the Mayo Clinic after several weeks, but a spokesperson from the clinic says he doesn’t know where Jackson is.

Congressman Jesse Jackson Jr. has departed from the Mayo clinic, according to the Chicago Tribune.

A spokesperson from the clinic reported the information earlier today, but said he’s not sure where Jackson went, reports say.

The newly re-elected Congressman has been at Mayo since October. He previously spent several weeks during the summer there, during which he was diagnosed with Bipolar II disorder. All throughout, Jackson has eluded nearly all media outlets.

In addition to his illness, Jackson faces a federal investigation for allegedly misusing his campaign funds and is reportedly in plea deal talks that could involve jail time.

After nearly six months on a leave of absence from Congress, it’s uncertain what Jackson’s future plans hold in store.

Here is a chance to win my vote...considering that some parts of the 2nd district are suffering (i.e. Dolton, Harvey) how would you fix this? Here is a hint, I am not interested in redistributing the wealth. I also don't want a FDR style government work program which only leads higher taxes and takes jobs away from the private sector

Todd, you must have read his sketchy plans before... He advocates work programs and the like, but what he doesn't understand is that he is not going to get them. Just because HE wants such programs doesn't mean that anyone would listen to him. He can promise all he wants (like obama) did, and maybe some desperate folks would fall for his rhetoric and vote for him, but in the end he wont do anything except collect a paycheck. THATS what he wants. A paycheck and a pension. He is a leech. A huckster. A buffoon. (as is Joe Lake)

Todd,
When I am elected I am going to do what I said I would do as I specified on my campaign website. That is our only way. Redistribution is the only way as there is biblical passages that support this concept. Here is those scriptures...

Charge them that are rich in this world, that they be not highminded, nor trust in uncertain riches, but in the living God, who giveth us richly all things to enjoy; That they do good, that they be rich in good works, ready to distribute, willing to communicate; Laying up in store for themselves a good foundation against the time to come, that they may lay hold on eternal life. (1 Timothy 6:17-19 KJV)
Too much is in the hands of too few and must distribute to those that have nothing.
I am going to help people that need help. The scheme that sifted their resources now we know where to go get them back. They took too much.
But we need the seat in the hands of the people not the powerful. It's the pwople's seat anyway.

Your argument is flawed. The scripture that you quote is a mandate for tithing as individuals, not as a government. To counter your scripture, what about the parable of talents in Matthew 25:14-30. "For whoever has will be given more, and they will have an abundance" Government should stay out of the charity business, so what else do you have?

Bravo Todd, you have seen this man for who he truly is. A leech. A taker. Marcus, giving of one's resources is just that, giving. A tax is not a gift to the government. A gift is something freely given. People work hard for what they have. why should they be compelled to "give" it to the government to be dished out to other. When a person with some wealth dies, why should the government take some of that wealth?? Hasn't he paid his taxes already. obama now wants half of pie!! re distributors like yourself are going to ruin this country.

It sounds to me, Mark Lewis that you are NOT an Independent, but a Socialist. No thank you. I work HARD for my paycheck and quite frankly, I'm tired of other people making a living from my hard work. Furthermore, you may want to remember there is a separation of church and state. So regardless of what the Bible states, our country is not governed by it. Before you go getting yourself worked up I AM A CHRISTIAN, but I also believe in the United States Constitution. That being said, are you not familiar with the verse, also from 1 Timothy (5:13) "Besides that, they learn to be idlers, going about from house to house, and not only idlers, but also gossips and busybodies, saying what they should not." We have enough "idlers" in this world a/k/a drug addicts, alcoholics, gang members. No thanks, your plan is NOT what we need more of.

When one side has by a scheme vacucumed out all the resources than leave with them and the left behind folks are subjected to riidcuke for asking for some help, the response should not be a stick or dogs on them. You are reaping for your labor then put back so others who you know are at a disadvanatage help them! Where is your humanity?!

The honey bee extract nectar from the flower to make honey that we extract from their hive for our consumption. We don't destroy the hive after one harvest likewise the honey bee takes from the flower but unknowingly pollinates the flower so that there will be a flower next year to extract from. The process has been for by misguided humans vulgarized. We destroy after a cycle so no one else can reap anything and then pull up the plant or factory that gave harvest to the worker and go somewhere off shore knowing the worker could not follow and is left with nothing to do with the skill he or she used to produce so as to take care of themselves.

Then add insult to injury is to blame the worker for asking for help. Like the honey bee in search of the flower but man has bulldozed everything and used pesticides to kill off the production of the honey bee killing the honey bee.

And for what?!

Humanity lost, broken. Universal law must kick in, "You shall reap what you have sown."

The people must come to themselves. The district continues to suffer while the machine keeps its grip on the people to keep themselves from improving.

This takes a wake up call like what happened the day after the election when it was revealed that machine candidate Jackson was in plea bargain talks. The machine was well aware of this and said nothing but told Jackson to remain in place basically deceiving the voters. Which he did.

The voters being apart of the machine by voting in lock step over the decades for machine candidates faithfully were "played" to do it again inspite of KNOWING WELL IN ADVANCE JJJ's movements and actions were very suspect. And look how it turned out. Badly for everyone.

This district at this moment is at a crossroads. I am here to save it and cut the nonsense and put it on an independent road to recovery. Too many of our residents are in abject poverty. Suffering, joblessness and lack of resources and opportunity are in definite short supply. We are at wits end.

My plan if enacted as specified on my campaign website will bring this district back from the Abyss and give us a positive shot in the arm remedies that are sorely needed and needed for the residents to finally see.

Marcus, "Ask NOT what your country can do for you - ask what you can do for your country." You may or may not recognize this as a quote from John Kennedy, a democrat, but this has become the message of Republicans in todays world. Democrats have become the party of those that are looking for what the country can give them, and Republicans are now the party that behaves the way that JFK wanted us to behave.

I do believe that Blackhawks fan, AND, unfortunately I also believe that is exactly why the Republican party will probably have great difficulty going forward. You have hispanics and blacks that will vote for democrats locally and nationally whether or not the people they elect actually do anything for them. You hear Dems say that Republicans are not inclusive. What could a Republican do to get blacks to vote for him or her?? Seriously, what?? What would a Republican need to promise to get the black vote?? What would they need to say to hispanics that would get them to vote for Republicans?? Truth be told, amnesty for illegals might help, but that's not what the majority of americans really want. The party that wants to tax those that have and give to those that have less is the party that will remain in power. I am a realist in addition to being a Republican.

NotBuyingit ~ I think the Republican Party has to abandon the Tea Party; they are way too radical in their beliefs. This is a changing time and until the GOP realizes this the far left will get elected. It seems you are blaming the blacks and Hispanics for electing Obama but you have to realize that 63% of America is white so there are a lot of others that don’t currently believe in the Republican Party. There is no question that there’s way too many entitlements, but you also have to understand that taxes have to be fair and the rich can’t have so many loop holes. My belief is that both parties have to come to the center and until that happens we will be in big trouble.

Wait a minute Blackhawks Fan... Who are the "rich"?? What are the "loopholes"??? I mean, seriously, I'm so sick of hearing about the "rich" and how they need to pay their fair share. How they are not paying enough. What should the rich pay??? what should you pay??? Maybe I think YOU don't pay enough enough in taxes. Everytime we turn around there is a tax, a fee, a fine, a penalty, another tax, a toll, a charge, a sticker, a license... It's ridiculous, and it all goes to a local or state or federal government. You write, "This is a changing time and until the GOP realizes this the far left will get elected. It seems you are blaming the blacks and Hispanics for electing Obama but you have to realize that 63% of America is white so there are a lot of others that don’t currently believe in the Republican Party." Okay, so we have realized that this is a changing time, now what??? I am not blaming Hispanics and blacks for electing obama. I AM saying that 93% of blacks voted for obama and that 71% of hispanics did. Those are growing populations. Republicans can't win with numbers like that, but we will never get their votes. The Tea Party is anti-tax, anti-big government. Dems try to paint them a fringe lunatics. Dems try to paiint mainstream Repubs a fringe lunatics!! Dems always demonize us and claim that we only care about big corps and rich people, and sadly it seems to have worked on their followers... We're going in the wrong direction...

If you don’t know what the loopholes are maybe you should do some research!!! Maybe you should explain why hedge fund managers pay 15% tax or why big oil gets subsidized. The simple fact is you are on here so you are middle class and why is it you are defending the supper rich? The Bush tax cuts need to be repealed.
I am also tired of all the people that take advantage of the system and the list long.

You can nickle and dime your hedge fund mgrs and have them pay the same taxes as you, what's that gonna get ya?? stop fossil fuel subsidies?? In what way am I defending the "super rich"?? What am I defending them from?? I'm saying that the taxation needs to stop for EVERYONE!!! Government keeps growing. You know all of those federal workers keep getting raises. We in the public sector don't but yet we gotta pay more taxes for more public workers who keep getting pay raises every freakin' year. ENOUGH!!! And so what if someone is rich or even SUPER rich!! How does that affect you?? It doesn't in any way. You could be rich, I could be rich, we all could be rich, if we knew how, or were lucky enough. Just because someone else is rich or super rich, doesn't mean that somehow we get less of anything. Who cares if someone is rich! I'm not and it's obvious, but I don't think that you or me or anyone else needs to pay MORE in taxes. You say the Bush tax cuts need to be repealed?? All of the cuts?? The ones that affect you as well?? I can't afford more taxes and fees and fines and penalties and stickers and licenses and it's all a joke... They are bleeding us dry.
