Jesse Jackson Jr.'s Investigation Ends in Plea Deal

The former U.S. representative's plea deal will include jail time, according to Sun-Times Media reports.

Former 2nd District Congressman Jesse Jackson Jr. has signed a plea deal with prosecutors, Sun-Times Media reports

Sources close to the investigation yesterday reported that the deal could include “significant jail time” for the defamed U.S. Representative.

Jackson has been subject of a federal investigation since October 2012, for alleged misuse of campaign funds. Reports of Jackson’s misused finances include the purchase of a $40,000 Rolex watch and $5,000 per month to pay his wife’s consulting firm, according to the Sun-Times.

Jackson’s wife, Sandi, is also in the crosshairs of a federal probe that spawned from Jackson’s initial investigation.

And so they did. And so he goes....to prison.

All you have to do is read the posts from MIA Jackson voters to understand how this can happen (and most likely will continue). The majority vote is based on party line, race, and their own misguided self-interests or beliefs.

Jackson going to jail is the tip of the iceberg. The real story, to quote Paul Harvey, is about greed, corruption, and D2 voters enabling a dysfunctional system.

I agree, lock them all up. Including the two Jackson brothers that were awarded a Budweiser distributorship after Jessie Sr stopped boycotting Budweiser.

If junior ran for his old office tomorrow, his brain dead followers would reelect him by a landslide.

Looks like the apple doesn't fall too far from the tree. Jr and Sr should both be in jail.
Check out this book about all the scams that Jessie Sr pulls.

I am concerned about the lack of checks and balances is the system. How can all this corruption happen and other don't know about it? And if others do know about it, they too should be punished. This also happens in medical billing, one of the reason our economy is in such dire straights. Every dime that is being spend to be approved by several different entities. You can trust people's honesty. Gaumy

Corruption exists because, well, people are pretty stupid. As George Carlin said, "you know how dumb the average person is? Just remember, half the people are dumber than that," Very few smart people go into politics - especially in Cook Coutny, and apparently very few people vote with the overall interests of society in mind -- if they could even look at the candidates and figure out whose election would actually result in that. The machine in this area is completely self perpetuating, trading votes for patronage jobs, political donations for government contracts, and the courts and prosecutors and attorney general here are part of that system. Only the Federal prosecutors and federal courts are largely immune, but even a pretty dedicated prosecutor like Pat Fitzgerald focuses on a few big fish (and the headlines they grab) rather than attempting to truly reform the system...

Bad idea to print Largo's comment. I don't want to be a part of something (Patch) that allows stupid racist comments like that.

I find Largo's comment to be offensive!!! While it may be appropriate to be frustrated with JJJ, such frustration, anger, and intolerance should not be directed at every "prominent African American personality". I don't recall such public response when two consecutive governors went to prison. At any rate, fraud has no color, so JJJ's race should not be an issue.
