Kelly Nabs Endorsements from Senators Trotter, Raoul and Hunter: 2nd District Election
The endorsements came just one day after Kelly's former boss announced her support for another candidate,
Three state Senators endorsed 2nd District congressional candidates Robin Kelly Tuesday, according to a press release from her campaign. State senators Donne Trotter, Kwame Raoul and Mattie Hunter have all announced their support for Kelly.
"Robin Kelly is my choice for Congress because she has a clear vision for our future," Trotter said. "Robin has personally been through the economic struggles that too many are facing right now, and come out the other side. We can count on Robin Kelly to fight for us every single day because she knows firsthand what it is like, and that is why I am endorsing her."
The endorsements come on the heels of Cook County Board President Toni Preckwinkle announcing her endorsement of Kelly's rival State Sen. Toi Hutchinson, despite Kelly working as Preckwinkle chief administrative officer for two years.

claws will be out tonight.....can you feel the tension? Just another cook county-chi town political pissing contest shown. Instead of endorsements from gun totin' peeps and the like, we should expect to hear candidates present their visions for the 2nd district. anything else is b s plenty.

Interesting. It looked like Toi was finally on track to become the "black consensus" candidate but Robin is fighting back with endorsements of her own: Looks like maybe Debbie can finally hang up her Mary Kay Cosmetics sales kit for good.....

Given the alternatives Debbie H. is the best thing left standing. Would be nice to break the cycle of Gus, Mel and Jessie.

Attaining endorsement from Trotter should be considered an insult.
I would not boast an endorsement from a person that publicly through criminal charges have been exposed to be a hypocrite.
