Child Throws Pills, Strikes Mother: Homewood Police Blotter

FRIDAY, JAN. 27
Criminal Damage
Corey Sanders, 23, of the 18700 block of Royal Road in Homewood, was charged with criminal damage to property. Police said Sanders became irate during an argument outside his house around 3:30 p.m. and kicked the driver’s side mirror of a car off. To officers, Sanders denied kicking the car.

Domestic Battery
A juvenile was charged with domestic battery and accused of throwing a bottle of pills and striking her mother in the head. The mother told police she confronted her daughter about half a bottle of missing ADHD pills around 6 a.m. and an argument ensued. She was booked and released to her mother within an hour, according to the report.
WEDNESDAY, JAN. 25
Fleeing Police
Antonio Brown, 40, of the 13400 block of Kildare Avenue in Robbins, was charged with possession of a controlled substance, resisting a peace officer, obstructing justice and failure to properly secure child. Police said Brown took off running on foot, abandoning a child, after curbing his car in the 17500 block of Dixmoor Drive around 1:30 p.m.
He was reportedly stopped in a back yard in the 2100 block of Spruce Street. Brown allegedly discarded several articles of clothing while in pursuit. Police said they found a bag containing half a gram of cocaine in his jacket, and he lied about his identity. He was wanted on warrants out of Posen and the Cook County Sheriff’s Office.
He was also charged with driving on a suspended license and driving without a valid license.
