The finding comes from an autopsy performed on Ryan Rogers, 27, after the Tuesday incident in the 1900 block of 171st Street, near the border of Homewood.

You're just as ignorant as the cop that killed Ryan. But you don't know the family and him as I do, so of course you're heartless. Maybe you'll understand when it happens to a cousin or brother of yours.

Really, nonya? Man, that's cold. All I know about this person is that he was said to have hit and run. That deserves being shot in the back and killed?
It doesn't even say that he was involved in whatever the police were staking out so, as far as I know, he was innocent of everything but the hit and run.

If the cop felt like he was in "DANGER" & he felt he "HAD TO" shoot then he could have easily fixed that by shooting out the tires not anywhere above the fender. SMDH! Right is Right And Wrong is Wrong & this case is pure WRONG no matter Ryan's criminal background as well as a pathetic excuse for the justice system. Police are "suppose" to be there to "help use" when in danger not harm us & make us fear them. This officer MUST be punished & be disciplined for his actions. Why Have a degree & badge when he's out here acting the same as the Gang members & drug dealers on the street corner... If Ryan thought he was being robbed he had every right to TRY to get away if the officer didn't let his authority be know, (Okay So Say Ryan Did Ram The Police Car) at that time Ryan was fearing for his "safety" & was trying to survive by any means possible. Neighbors admit he did not Hit or go towards the officers until after shots were fired. Proper procedure seeing Ryan didn't have a gun would have not shot at all seeing there was residents outside at the time, they too easily could have caught one of those bullets too.

THAT'S WHAT THEY WANTED TO HAPPEN, WAS FOR RYAN TO PULL OUT A GUN THINKING HE WAS BEING ROBBED SO THEY HAD A RIGHT TO SHOOT HIM BUT SINCE RYAN DIDN'T THE OFFICER HAD TO RESORT TO PLAN B.... So NONYA If you wanted to be so close minded and rude you could have kept you opinions and comments to yourself... The family is already endured enough, so your IGNORANCE I'm sure they can do without. This could have easily been someone close or related to you. KEEP AN OPEN MIND OR KEEP YOUR MOUTH SHUT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We have a gun culture . Death by gun is always acceptable. Death by bullet is fine in America. Beating to death is a problem. Just shoot your gun and say I was scared and it's all good. What's really sad is that a 27 year old unarmed man was shot to death . We have to speculate as to whether it was legitimate killing by public servants who are suppose to protect us. In most civilized countries that man would be alive and able to explain why he ran or why he was excited, scared or whatever. But we live in country where even 6 month old babies die by the bullet. So whom cares about a 27 year old?

Of course there is absolutely NO possibility that the Medical Examiner could have made a mistake? No chance that an exit wound could be mistaken for an entrance wound? Impossible. Cook County never makes any mistakes.

Not with entrance and exit wounds. That's Autopsy 101. Way to make crap up to make the victim the bad guy.

I dont think for one minute this guy Ryan was fearing for his safety. He was caught and didnt want to spend time in jail, where he prabably should have been long before this insident,so he did what ever he could to get to freedom. Including ramming a cop car !

The shooting is under investigation by The Independent Police Review Authority.

Looks like this agency has no shortage of work in the Chicago-land area... Business is "booming" apparently. Maybe we should learn more about this agency to see how "Independent" they really are? Any citizen oversight?. They seem slow to reach conclusions - ie the Homewood Police shooting of a man is still "under investigation".

WOW! WOW! AND WOW! Where have I been? Just heard this story today. My prayers goes to the family and friends of Ryan Rogers. I would like to know what the heck is going to be done about this ruthless street gang aka Chicago Police. I mean they are licensed to kill people at will and the cover ups are getting ridiculous. They don't even take the time out to sell us a good story anymore. I mean it wasn't that long ago they said the police will not be responding to arm robberies, break ins, and other petty crimes( as they called them). Now they want us to believe that they sent detectives out to EAST HAZEL CREST to conduct surveillance about a string of robberies that happened in Chicago. Basically telling us to KISS THEIR A** IT IS WHAT IT IS. My guess they were going to commit a robbery. Just my guess. They thristy A** was out there working alright
