Mother Returns from Afghanistan to Surprise First-Grade Son at Willow
After being deployed in Afghanistan since last September as a member of the Department of Defense, Latesha Miles came home today—with a special surprise her first-grader at Willow School.
When Jalen Miles left for school Friday, he had no idea that he would be seeing one of his parents for the first time in months.
After all, both parents serve in the millitary—his mother for the Department of Defense and his father for the U.S. Army—and both have been deployed for months.
But his mother Latesha Miles had other plans. After a six-month deployment in Afghanistan, Miles surprised Jalen with her return, during class at Willow School.
Please watch our video to see the heartwarming reunion of Jalen and his mother.

Just bypassed the story on HuffPost about the cats and convicts for "good news of the week."
I wish every military family would get their happy reunion soon.
