Motorcycle Dealership Coming to Homewood
Wiggins Cycles and Equipment is opening a location in Homewood, according to business representative Art Wiggins.
Wiggins sells SYM/Lance and Cleveland Cycle Werks motorycles, as well as parts and apparel, according the dealership's Facebook page. The business also specializes in small engine motorcycle, scooter and lawn equipment repair.
Dairy Queen Season is Here
It's that time of year again. Dairy Queen opens for the summer season this week. It may not be sizzling outside, but that doesn't mean you can't enjoy a dilly bar.
Healthy Hounds Move Delayed
The nutrition-oriented Flossmoor pet store announced on Facebook that it will not be relocating to Homewood as quickly as originally planned.

I need to make a correction.
We have applied for our business license in Chicago Heights. We are currently negotiating with the owners of the property in respect to responsibility of bringing the building to meet city code.
The property is on the north end of Halsted and because of the proximity to Homewood we will be serving the Homewood/Flossmoor community.
We do not have any plans to physically locate within the boundaries of the Village of Homewood. We have considered Homewood but Cook County Tax simply prevents such an expansion.
We do thank the Patch for the help in generating interest in our business.

So I posted something earlier Arthur but Patch didn't allow it (had a URL link so maybe that was it).
I'm looking to buy a 3 wheel scooter called an Auto Moto. Has a 150cc engine and you can work on this if need be, yes?

I work on any gasoline internal combustion engine that I can get parts for. The reason I say it that way Dinkum is because so many importers of Chinese/Taiwanese scooter/vehicles have flooded our shores with scooters, yet have done so with no parts supports.
I recently did a cylinder head rebuild on a 3 wheel scooter imported by "Ice Bear", Parts were impossible to find. It took 4 months to complete the job (the owner had special gaskets made to do it).
Let me know I am glad to help.

I see your point. And I've seen that model name before.
If you don't mind, I'd like a technical view of the scooter I'm considering. If you have a moment, Google "Auto Moto 3 wheel scooter" and tell me your thoughts.
Thank you.

Dinkum,
I took a look at the web site and two Youtube videos. If they are in fact being used by UPS of China, then there is some credibility to the brand.
The U.S. distributor debut of the brand at SEMA was both questionable and impressive. I get nervous when I hear the words "proprietary components" on a new brand.
I also noticed that there are two dealers in Illinois, both are north of Chicago, I would check out both dealers before I purchased to get a feel for their "after the sell & warranty" customer service.
The scooter market took a hard nose dive from 2007-2010 many manufacturers went out of business. So consumers were stuck with warranties that were not enforceable.
Overall if they are who they represent themselves to be, it looks like a value based AND quality product. 2 year warranty is always impressive if they remain in business, (like I said if UPS of China is actually using these units they, may be a sustainable manufacturer/importer).

Arthur,
Thank you for the thoughtful and detailed overview.
I've been spending time on the AM Forum and conversing with current owners. So far, they are who they appear to be and have very satisfied customers.
Again, my thanks.
