Lumber Yard Wild Ride
Police charged 53-year-old Fahed Jaber of the 7900 block of Tameling Ct. in Palos Hills with felony theft for allegedly stealing over $700 worth of merchandise from Menards, according to reports. Police say Jaber gathered the merchandise in a cart around 11:40 a.m. and left it unattended while he moved his truck into the lumber yard. Once inside the lumber yard, Jaber began to transfer the items to his truck, reports say. When Menards employees tried to stop him, he backed away and began “driving recklessly around the lumber yard.” Police say someone observed Jaber throw a rotary hammer out the window of his truck while performing evasive maneuvering, reports say. Employees finally stopped Jaber’s wild ride and turned him and a video of the theft over to the police.

He was last seen fleeing Westbound towards 175th Street.

Since Halsted goes North and South, fleeing west was really evasive.

$80 worth of copper? That's a couple feet of wire, or a handful of elbows nowadays!

It's sad that stealing $80 of copper is worth it to him.
