Nominate the Best Summer Festival in the Southland

Don't miss the opportunity to nominate what you feel is the BEST summer festival in your community or a surrounding town. It'll face off against others from the area for the title of the most-loved festival in the Southland.

Thanks for participating in Patch's Readers' Choice! Our nomination period is now over. Check back July 23, when live voting for your favorites begins!

-------------------

The south suburbs are filled with a great variety of summer festivals. There's carnivals, food-centric events, concerts, arts fairs and more.

Summer festivals are a great way to spend a day with the family outdoors, experience new art and culture or just do a little day drinking.

So tell us—What's the best of the fests in the Southland? There's no doubt that we have a repertoire of options in Orland ParkTinley ParkOak ForestPalosChicago HeightsHomewood-FlossmoorEvergreen ParkOak LawnFrankfortNew Lenox and Mokena

Nominate your favorite festival by telling us in the comments. Here are a few examples, but they MUST BE NOMINATED to be included in the poll! As festivals are nominated, they'll be added to the list and bolded.

  • Frankfort Fall Festival
  • Oak Fest
  • Homewood Art and Garden Fair

We will accept nominations through July 9.

I nominate the Frankfort Chamber of Commerce "Fall Festival". It is a nationally ranked festival posting as high as #4 in the nation.

Thanks for nominating Frankfort Fall Festival!! I would vote for Fall Fest myself, but I suppose I'm a biased respondent. :)

The only Festival worth mentioning is the CARIBBEAN BEACH BLOCK PARTY. The rest are just a bunch of gypsies trying to sell you 'Crafts' that are really made in China.

I nominate Frankfort Fall Festival!! Over 300 of the country's best artisans means quality and something for everyone, not to mention a carnival, food court and parade.

Thanks for the shout-out to Frankfort Fall Festival!! Even better, this year, Fall Fest will have an area devoted just to live demonstrations of select artists' "creation process." I anticipate it being--awesome.

I nominate the Orland Hills Il 4th of July firesworks and festival. The firework show is awesome and one of the best of all the surrounding suburbs.

While I do love the Frankfort Fall Fest, my vote goes to New Lenox's Proud American Days as the BEST! It has more variety and things to do for all ages no matter was you like, and always has top notch bands playing each night! And the workers, including the police are always friendly & helpful!

I like Tinley Park's CARIBBEAN BEACH BLOCK PARTY. Last year a band covering Heart music appeared that was the best. The female lead's voice was as profound as Ann Wilson's.

All are good, but Frankfort is the most varied, cleanest, and all over fun festival.
