Patch Picks: Date Night Destinations

Although Homewood-Flossmoor is relatively small, we still have some great places to go for "date night."

Here are five picks that are sure to help start an evening of romance, right here in Homewood-Flossmoor.

Asian Harbor

There's something sensual about eating sushi. If your date enjoys Thai food or sushi, make a reservation at Asian Harbor. They also offer some fun cocktail's, like like Mai Tai's and Blue Hawaii's.

5th Quarter & Press Room Eatery

Stop at 5th Quarter & Press Room Eatery to sit back, enjoy some sports, have a few beers and peruse their extensive menu.

Bogart's Charhouse

Sometimes a nice thick cut of steak tickles your fancy is just what the love doctor ordered. You'll find steak, chops and lobster at Bogart's Charhouse.

Fresh Starts

Fresh Starts in Flossmoor is quaint, romantic and a lovely restaurant to go to when you want to chat over a nice glass of wine.

Little Tokyo Japanese Restaurant

Another nice casual spot is Little Tokyo Japanese Restaurant. They have many different noodle dishes...perfect for sharing with your significant other!

Nice article about places to eat, but does Homewood offer anything else? Dancing? Music?

I'd recommend the Drama Group in Chicago Heights for excellent (and very affordable!) live theater. Their 81st Season starts this October with a production of Smokey Joe's Cafe.

A lot of our restaurants & merchants are supporting the local music scene -- Mama & Me, Tin Ceiling, Bergsteins NY Deli, Art 4 Soul, Thomas' Photographic Services, & the Zone are a few that come to mind. Check out South Sub Music's website for venues & dates (www.southsubmusic.com).

I believe Balagio's has a Frank Sinatra style piano player/entertainer one weekend night.
Also, if your date night INCLUDES the kids, Grady's Grille offers homemade play dough for the kids to play with. Keeps them entertained at least through appetizers. ;)

Little Tokyo Restaurant is closed, of course. It is now Tokyo Steakhouse, and is in the space that had been empty since Balagio's moved.
