Sandburg's Mitch Cook (pictured at top in a file photo) pinned Oak Park-River Forest's Jake Omara in 5:24 to win their 138-pound match at Saturday's Class 3A dual-team state wrestling tournament. Cook's pin pulled Sandburg into a 24-24 deadlock. The Eagles went on to capture the state title with a thrilling 30-24 victory over the Huskies at U.S. Cellular Coliseum in Bloomington. Sandburg's Anthony Bonnar swam a leg on the Eagles' second-place finishing 200-yard freestyle relay in the IHSA state meet Saturday at Evanston. The Eagles were clockd in 1:24.56. For Bonnar, the all-state performance capped a four-year run that saw him transform from a non-swimmer into one of the Eagles' top sprinters. Credit Ron Kremer
