What part of "created equal" don't you get? This is a civil rights issue that is just as important as any other we've fought over in this country. We should not have to "worry about" it at all. It should be a no-brainer. Marry the consenting adult you want to marry. Period.

Amen, Heather. People who claim to be Christian but who oppose same-sex marriage are not really Christian at all. Because what is a Christian if not a follower of Jesus, and didn't Jesus accept all people equally and ask that we do the same, without judgment? It irks me to no end that people pull the Christian card when spewing their hatred.

The punishment for our sin is death. God is also loving, and merciful. He cannot justly set aside justice - simply because of His love for us. What He did do was pronounce us guilty, sentence us to death, and then step down from Heaven, to become Man, and then satisfy justice in our place.
Jesus Christ, God's only begotten Son, died for your sin and mine, was buried and 3 days later rose alive from the grave.

Moi - you are a sinner before your God. He will be your judge, not mine. All sin means there's zero difference between a child stealing a candy bar and a man murdering someone. Sin is sin and all will be judged equally (according to your God) However, everyone shall be granted forgiveness so long as they utter "Father forgive me" before death....

Karen...You are right. ALL are sinners and the proof of that is that everyone dies. The punishment for sin is death/separation from God forever in a place called Hell. We deserve to be punished for our sins. There can never be any sin in Heaven where God lives, and there is no way to save ourselves. BUT, because God loves us, He has made a way for the punishment of our sins to be paid for by His sinless Son, Jesus. His suffering was for you and me, the blood that He shed was for you and me. It is not by uttering a prayer before you die, but by trusting in/placing your faith on what Jesus has done for you. God is gracious to offer salvation as a free gift to all who will put their faith/trust in Jesus Christ. Jesus put it this way "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son; that whosoever believeth on Him, should not perish, but have everlasting life."

"But He was wounded for OUR transgressions, He was bruised for OUR iniquities; the chastisement of OUR peace was upon Him; and with His stripes we are healed. ALL WE like sheep have gone astray... for the transgression of my people was He stricken...for He shall bear THEIR iniquities... and He bare the sin of many"...Isaiah 53:5-6,8,10-12. The whole chapter of Isaiah testifies of the Messiah , and this site shows more prophesies fulfilled by Jesus as Messiah.

Jesus Christ, the Messiah came the first time to be the Savior. All those, both Jew and Gentile who reject God's Son, are rejecting God's one and only acceptable sacrifice for their sin and will face God's wrath. This however, is not God's desire, He is long suffering, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. Salvation, to both Jew and Gentile is only through Jesus Christ. God's Holy Word is the key to the faith that is needed to believe.

BTW, you really need to get a newer Bible. KJV has its virtues, but the language is too archaic for serious modern exegesis. If you're religiously conservative, as it seems you are, let me suggest either the New International Version (NIV) or its recent revision (NIV11), or perhaps the Holman Christian Standard Bible (HCSB). For my part, I prefer the New Revised Standard Version (NRSV), augmented by Nestle-Aland's Novum Testamentum Graece (NA27) for serious work.
