Police Search for Local Man in Connection with Mother's Stabbing

Cook County Sheriff's police are searching for Blake Springsteen, 22, in connection with the beating and stabbing of his mother. Police say not to approach Springsteen and notify authorities if he is seen.

Cook County Sheriff's officers are asking for residents' help in tracking down a unincorporated Cook County man wanted in connection with the beating and stabbing of his 46-year-old mother.

Blake Springsteen, 22, is suspected of beating his mother in the 3600 block of Flossmoor Road, before putting her in the trunk of his car and driving to Crete, where he allegedly stabbed her multiple times before leaving her in a ditch in the 900 block of Columbia Street.

The woman was taken to an area hospital, where she was in stable condition as of March 5, according to a spokesperson for the sheriff's office.

The public is asked not to approach Springsteen, a 6-foot-tall, 240-pound, white male, according to a press release from the Cook County Sheriff's office.

If anyone has information about the location of Springsteen, they are urged to call the Cook County Sheriff's Police, at (847) 635-1188, or by dialing 911.
