Police Search for Local Man in Connection with Mother's Stabbing

Cook County Sheriff's police are searching for Blake Springsteen, 22, in connection with the beating and stabbing of his mother. Police say not to approach Springsteen and notify authorities if he is seen.

Cook County Sheriff's officers are asking for residents' help in tracking down a unincorporated Cook County man wanted in connection with the beating and stabbing of his 46-year-old mother.

Blake Springsteen, 22, is suspected of beating his mother in the 3600 block of Flossmoor Road, before putting her in the trunk of his car and driving to Crete, where he allegedly stabbed her multiple times before leaving her in a ditch in the 900 block of Columbia Street.

The woman was taken to an area hospital, where she was in stable condition as of March 5, according to a spokesperson for the sheriff's office.

The public is asked not to approach Springsteen, a 6-foot-tall, 240-pound, white male, according to a press release from the Cook County Sheriff's office.

If anyone has information about the location of Springsteen, they are urged to call the Cook County Sheriff's Police, at (847) 635-1188, or by dialing 911.

Springsteen is the same man police were searching for Monday night.

Everyone makes mistakes. He should have to sit in the time-out chair and think about what he did.

"Everyone makes mistakes. He should have to sit in the time-out chair and think about what he did".

Not everyone beats and stabs their mother HR (IF he did this). So if someone did this to you (or a family member), they should sit in the time-out chair?

You're as nutty as he appears to be.

Apparently he's one of "those" people that are bringing down the quality of homewood. Too bad he doesn't fit the sterotypical-section8-animal we are accustomed too.....apparently he's worse!!!! Love to see all those post from homewood faithfuls...from what I've seen, he appears to be the most violent offender in town. Now isn't that something special!!!

Nice try. At this point it's a domestic violence incident. So unless your name is Springsteen, you are likely safe from this guy. It is the random muggings and attacks that are much more worrisome to the average citizen....

Why so obsessed with race? hometown sounds relieved that this was a crime committed by a caucasian man. CRIME IS CRIME. This comment just furthers the racial division meme perpetrated by the left in this country.

Saddened and Stunned. Sure there are theories and rumors circulating...only the family truly knows. Other than praying, I just can't imagine what else we can do for them right now. This one really hurts because she has such a giving and compassionate spirit. I believe he'll be arrested.

His facebook page suggests that he has severe mental health issues. Pray for him and his family.

Thankfully, he is now in custody. Based on a tip, Flossmoor Police arrested him earlier this evening and has now turned him over to the Cook County Sheriff's Dept. The entire family has a long road ahead and we should support them the best way we can.

To Juvenal- I thought it was a nice try too. Just like it was domestic violence in Culpepper case; however, folks felt his kind didn't belong in homewood. Question, what kind is that? He was mentally ill; was he a threat to the community as mr. SPRINGSTEEN? All I hear is he made a mstake; really and what might that mistake be...he didn't make sure she was dead!!! Muggings and attacks are across the color spectrum....as well as those burglaries flossmoor was experiencing from such a upstanding citizen as Mr. Troiani. Before he was caught; the horror, the shame, the accusations of whom it might be.

To Madge - see Juvenal response.....also I guess I'm a product of my environment. ..when the good citizens of homewood continue to show how ignorant they are. ..it just seems rub off. Not obessed with race, just an equal opportunity b.s.caller! You are right"crime is crime" and just like you felt slighted or whatever, other have similar feelings. Left ....right it doesn't matter political loyalty or affiliations. ..its a problem we all feel the effects of!!! Black people commit crimes; true...but guess what??? So does ever other race in this country!! Lets look at some these real. thugs in government postions or at these coropations.
