The bats of the Southland Vikings laregely were silent in the first game of a doubleheader against the Rockford Foresters on Saturday, July 2. The Vikings fell 8-1 despite three hits and a solo homer from Elliott Armstrong.
The Foresters completed the sweep with an 8-7 victory in Game 2. George Patterson had three hits, including a double, and scored one run for the Vikings. Kuris Duggan and A.J. Doyle each had two hits.
