Buying things that have been previously loved and gently used is a great way to save money. Here are some places you might not know about in the south suburbs for great resale saving!
Bargain Box (Homewood)
The Bargain Box is great for finding seasonal items, clothes and knick knacks at a great, low price. They often have quality brand name items in beautiful shape. This is a perfect place to shop for little ones who grow out of clothing and shoes quickly.
ReStore (Chicago Heights)
The ReStore is a rehabber's dream! They carry used and surplus building materials, appliances and furniture. They get in new shipments often and you can find a variety of wonderful things to renovate or update.
Village Door (Homewood)
Want to decorate your home on a budget? Looking for art and furniture? This is the place for you. The Village Door has some beautiful gently used items that will spruce up your home for spring for less!
Second Chance Resale Shops (Chicago Heights)
What does a gardener on a budget do to find a good deal? They go to this thrift store! Check out this store for their wide variety of gardening items as well as jewelry, clothing, and housewares.
One More Thing (Park Forest)
One More Thing is a beautiful store where resale items look more like new items at a big-name retail shop. The prices are reasonable, and it's a perfect place to stock up on decor, furniture and more. It's a little drive from the immediate area, but it's totally worth it to save this much money on items that are just like new.

Leslie, can't wait to check out the stores you mentioned...I've got to say "Good As New Thriftshop" in Matteson is one of the all time best ... (okay, so I'm an honorary Matteson girl.) Sales help the non-profit Sertoma Centre, Inc. Just head west on Route 30 to 4331 W. Lincoln Highway. Also: all clothes are 50 percent off through the end of this week.

Love thrift shopping. did you know that the Amish, who are incredibly thrifty, shop garage sales and thrift stores?? I found that out when I recently read "Money Secrets of the Amish" by Lorilee Craker. Another way to find great used clothes is to set up your own "swap meet" with friends.
