Western Ave School Plans New Parking Lot; Flossmoor Changing Banks: On the Agenda

When/where? 7:30 p.m. at Flossmoor Village Hall

Western Ave School is looking to create a new parking lot and playground, the village is changing banks and the board will be awarding a sewer cleaning and televising contract all during tonight's village board meeting.

"Take Charge of Your Health" Free Program at the Homewood Library

When/where? 10 a.m. at Homewood Public Library

"Through this great discussion-oriented workshop, attendees will discover a new way to be in control of their health, and live the life they WANT to live."

TUESDAY, March 6

South Suburban Computer Club Meeting

When/where? 7 p.m. at Prairie State College

Of focus this week: "Understanding Microsoft Windows Properties, Using Hot Keys and Office Ribbons"

Cooking with Kids

When/where? 4 p.m. at World of Enrichment

"Providing kids with positive, fun experiences with food increases the likelihood that they will try and enjoy those foods."

Book Tasting Club

When/where? 7 p.m. at Homewood Public Library

Find out about new Young Adult books by listening to book talks or give your own booktalk about your favorite book. This month, in honor of Teen Tech Week, we will be videotaping our book talks. Snacks provided.

WEDNESDAY, March 7

Free Dentistry

When/where? 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Center for Dental Excellence

Dr. Gary Goldberg and several other local dental practicioners will converge at the Center for Dental Excellence to provide an entire day of free dental care for anyone who is of age 18 or older. Cleaning, cavities and extraction are just some of the free services that will be provided.

FRIDAY, March 9

St. Joseph's Annual Lenten Fish Fry

When/where? 4:30 p.m. at St. Joseph Parish

"All you can eat Alaskan Pollack Fish Dinner. Shrimp or Catfish dinners available. Spaghetti or mac and cheese for the pasta lovers. Come for the food and stay for the fun!"

SATURDAY, March 10

Homewood-Flossmoor Soccer Club Spring Registration

When/where? 9 a.m. at the Marie Irwin Community Center
