Vote: Who Has the Best Burger?

Lots of restaurants serve a good burger. We want to know which ones are a cut above the rest.

Almost as divisive as pizza, burgers have been wildly popular in America for generations.

Whether it's the beef, toppings, bread or cooking method that make a burger delicious, there is always something that pushes certain restaurants ahead of the pack.

We want to know which spot in the area serves up your favorite burger. We asked for your suggestions on Facebook, and got back several nominees. Now it's time to pick a winner.

To help us figure this out and support a restaurant you love, there are three simple things you can do.

  1. Click on the name of the business below and leave a review.
  2. Make sure you show your support by commenting below this article and telling us why you love a certain restaurant and their burgers.
  3. Select your favorite buger joint in the poll below.

REMEMBER: Comments and reviews are worth more than votes in the poll, so make sure you comment on your favorite restaurant's Patch listing.

If there's a restaurant we left out, vote for it in the comments and review that restaurant in our Patch directory!

This poll closes at 9 p.m. on Sunday, April 1. We will then visit the winning restaurant and ask the owner what makes a good burger.

I can't tell you the place I had the best burger. I do know that 5th Quarter's was good but I don't know if I'd call it the "best." Maybe the best on that list? But then, I haven't eaten at all the places on that list so my response isn't exactly helpful. I CAN tell where I had the worst burger, however, and that was at Schoops. Overcooked cinders is all they are.

If you're near Beecher, do yourself a favor & have a burger at Buddy's Drive-in on Rt. 1. They're wonderful & the meat is flavorful & fresh. Their fries are good too. I've liked all that I have tasted there so far!

Schoop's is definitely #1 with Flossmoor Station being #2. Always a great char/crust on both their burgers. Bogart's is AWFUL: Big, flavorless clump of gray meat.
