Churchill School Art Teacher Honored by School Board

Churchill art teacher Patricia Callahan was presented with School District 153’s Jerry Morin Excellence in Education Award. The quarterly award recognizes outstanding teaching in School District 153 and was established in honor of former school board member Jerry Morin who retired in 2007 after 14 years of service.   The District’s Board of Education honored Callahan during its February 13th meeting.

Churchill Principal Cece Coffey praised Callahan’s willingness to help out in any way and take on added responsibilities.

“It doesn’t matter what is asked of Patti.  With her characteristic positive attitude and great sense of humor, her response is always ‘absolutely’,” said Coffey.

Callahan also was honored for sponsorship of extracurricular activities, her contributions on the Churchill PBIS team and her leadership of Churchill School’s news program, “The Bulldog Buzz.”
