District 153 is pleased to announce expanded offerings in our Summer Arts and Theatre Programs for the children of our community. Housed at James Hart School, the programs will involve a staging a muscial and a variety of art workshops/projects.
The Summer Storytelling Theatre will present one of the local premieres of Disney’s Little Mermaid, Jr. This is the first time Disney has released amateur performance rights for this family favorite. Public performances will be July 6 & 7, at 7:30 PM.
Participants in the Summer Art program will create a variety of artworks, using both 2 dimensional and 3 dimensional media. Their artwork will be exhibited in a gallery at the conclusion of the program, and artists get to take home all their masterpieces!
The deadline to sign-up is May 21, 2012.
The programs serve children who will be entering the 3rd through 9th grades and will run June 11 through July 7. District 153 is pleased to offer enrollment to children living outside the school district boundaries.
Through the initial May 21st deadline, participants living within the boundaries of Homewood School District #153 will be enrolled according to availability. Families residing outside the boundaries of Homewood School District #153 are encouraged to submit applications as soon as possible, as they will be numbered in the order received. Once the May 21st deadline has passed, out of District applicants will be registered for the program until sections are full.
