Homewood Caribou...lets go beyone being sad already!
I dont know where my post went (I posted elsewhere I guess earlier), but I would like to know what the heck the residents of this community are doing about Caribou's closing....if youre going to miss it so much, why not do something about it. Why are we not talking to corporate? The mayor just commented in the Southtown Star that they were offered favorable lease terms an still pulled out of our community! Why is that, why just Tinley Park and the North side of Chicago? Is there something different or unsavory about us?

I'm not sure if you intended to post this as a blog post or a comment under the Caribou story, but, in response to your contention, many local residents are actually calling the corporate office. Take a look at the end of the comment section under the Caribou Closing article and you'll see evidence of this.

I and many others have communicated with Caribou through facebook. They say they are exploring other sites in IL. We each, in turn, suggested spots in Homewood. Many individuals ARE speaking up and putting our efforts where we think they may make a difference, Lydia.
