“Green Thumb Saturdays”, are held once a month by the Village of Homewood. The free programs are dedicated to help educate gardeners of all skill levels. The upcoming schedule is: Lawn Care Basics on August 11, Tree Planting and Care on September 8, and Composting on October 13. They also host “Touch of Green” events that feature area businesses promoting green activities that can be implemented at home. These events are Electronic Waste on August 11 and an Expired Prescription Drug Collection on October 20. The demonstrations don’t end there; the blogger of Momma Cuisine will be at the market on July 28. Her mantra is “great everyday meals” and she helps other parents create just that, by sharing her knowledge and recipes.
On the entertainment front, guitarists and singers Jim and Kirk will be performing August 4 and October 13. Additionally, the singer John Johannes will appear on August 25 – with added performances in September. Bringing youth into the equation, the nonprofit youth group Theatre & Arts Leadership Kouncil (TALK) will be appearing at Homewood French market on August 11 and September 8. They strive to teach leadership skills through art.
The Homewood French Market boasts a remarkable variety of vendors from around the surrounding areas.
