Bone Marrow Registry Drive

There will be a Be The Match bone marrow registry drive on Sunday, March 16, from 11:30 to 1:00 at Temple Anshe Sholom, 20820 S. Western Avenue, during the Purim festival.  The drive is in honor of Benjamin Gulizia-Cowing, age 14, who is ill with leukemia and possibly will need a bone marrow transplant.  He is the grandson of Marcia Cowing, a member of the temple.  Those who register at the drive must be between the ages of 18 to 44.  Older persons can apply by mail to Be The Match.  The cure for blood cancers such as leukemia is in the hands of ordinary people, says the Be the Match organization. One out of 540 people registering actually becomes a donor to someone in need.  And that person can potentially save the life of someone else.  Call 773-779-4928 for more information or go to Bethematch.org.  Thanks.
