Interfaith Worship Celebration 'Dignity In Difference'

The South Suburban Interfaith Ministerial Association sponsored a Interfaith Worship Celebration on Monday, January 20, 2014, at B'Nai Yehuda Beth Sholom/ Congregation Am Echad in Homewood. It was a time of proclamation and Praise for the lives of Martin Luther King Jr and Nelson Mandela. Musical selections were provided by the Inspirational Voices Choir from Homewood Flossmoor High School.  It was an inspiring service, with excerpts from speeches by Dr King and Nelson Mandela read by local ministers. It was the first celebration of the King holiday sponsored by the association which sponsors a Good Friday Service and a Thanksgiving Eve service annually. I truly enjoyed the service, the audience was visibly moved by the readings from some of Dr King's and Mr Mandela's most famous speeches. The service was followed by refreshments and great conversation.
