Annual Housewalk, French Market Kick-Off and End of School Bash: 5 Things to Know

H-F Patch lets you know what events and activities you can look forward to in and around H-F in the upcoming week.

On Wednesday, the Flossmoor Service League will be hosting its benefits South Suburban Charities. The event is from 10 a.m until 3 p.m. and includes a tour of four Flossmoor homes and a luncheon at the , where five gift baskets will be raffled off.

At 6 p.m. on Wednesday the H-F League of Women Voters will be hosting its annual dinner/meeting at . Dinner will be served at 6:30 p.m. and Robin Kelly, Chief Administrative Officer for Cook County Board President Toni Preckwinkle, will be a guest speaker.

Say goodbye to the school year with your friends! From 7 pm until 9 pm at the on Friday, there will be a cookout, inflatable jumper, dodge ball and live music. The event is for kids in grades 5-8 and costs $7 in advance and $10 at the door.

(Saturday, May 21)

Come out to experience an old Homewood tradition with a European twist. The new Homewood French Market will kick off its season on Saturday from 8 a.m. until 1 p.m. in the Village Hall Parking Lot on Chesnut Road and Harwood Avenue.

Rain barrels will be available opening day of the Market on a first-come-first-served basis.

The Veterans Committee will be hosting a Homewood Canteen Fundraiser with a dinner and dance on Saturday in the . From 4-8 p.m., this event will be filled with 1940 style music, dancing, and a delicious buffet.

Tickets may be purchased at  and . Proceeds will benefit military families that are experiencing financial hardship due to military deployment.
