Celebrating National Hot Dog Day at Irwin Park

Hundreds showed up at Irwin Park on Monday to get a hot dog for a quarter.

Residents came by droves when employees from the Homewood-Flossmoor Park District served up a cheap lunch for National Hot Dog Day at Irwin Park.

At the event, a quarter bought you a hot dog with all the fixings. For just 75 cents more, it got you a cool drink and some chips.

Live music was provided by Sag Valley Boys who threw some hot dog jokes in between songs. A great summer day was enjoyed by those who attended Homewood's National Hot Dog Day picnic.
