Dog Found Near Ridge Road and Ashland Avenue

Can you help reunite this dog with its owner?

A reader has taken in a dog found near Ridge Road and Ashland Avenue. The dog was not wearing a collar or tags.

It is very friendly, and hopped right into the lap of the person who found it.

Do you know this dog? Does it belong to you? The dog has been turned over to police. If an owner is not identified, it will be taken to Forest South Animal Hospital in University Park.

It's easy to keep up with Patch!

I have very irresponsible neighbors on Linden, less than a block from where the dog was found, who own a dog named Taffy that looks like that. They always let her run wild. She does have a chip, though. I will call the police and see if they can read the chip.

There was no chip. Police checked him while I was still there.

I think I know the home the dog resides in-it has been loose several times this past summer/fall and we have returned him to the home. Does anyone know if the dog has been claimed? I am waiting for a returncall from the shelter.

Oh, this is so sad. Thanks, J Ford. I was going to call the Humane Society as I called Forest South and they will not give out info. I hope the doggie gets home.

Has this Dog been posted on Lost Dogs of Illinois? Can be listed on there as a FOUND Dog with picture and info . Is it a Male or Female etc. Nice looking dog & friendly -- someone has to be looking for it.

The police may have an outdated or limited micro chip scanner. A vet and/or shelter should also scan the dog for a chip.
