H-F High Recognized, 'Porn Truck' Update and the French Market: Feedback Friday

Hats off to all of our loyal H-F Patch Facebook fans! H-F Patch's Facebook now has 362 readers who "like" it. That's nearly 30 new fans in one week! H-F Patch readers have had quite a bit to say on both the site and on the H-F Patch Facebook page this week. Here are some of the highlights:

Newsweek magazine recently announced Homewood-Flossmoor High School as ranking 336 among the 500 best high schools in America. According to an H-F High School press release, the Newsweek list ranked H-F High as 17 in the state of Illinois and as the only south suburban high school in the state's top 20 high schools.

: HFHS is a great school. Both of my children graduated with fabulous educations from HF. They were each accepted to every one of their college choices! Those choices included George Washington, University of Illinois at both Champaign/Urbana and at Chicago, Illinois State, NIU, and SIU. My eldest child went on to graduate from University of Illinois/Champaign-Urbana with honors last year. The school has high expectations for each student and gives its students the support and tools to meet their personal goals. If they need help with a subject--tutoring is available from the teacher or the tutoring center before school. In our experience, the coaches put studies/grades high on their priority list. Special needs? The staff is better, supportive, and more helpful than you could ever imagine them being. The student body is made up of real kids of every race, religion, economic status, and ability. HF prepared my children well for living in the world today. It is the BEST high school we could have chosen for our family!

A 48-year-old Homewood man appeared in Markham Court Wednesday in connection with an incident in which he attempting to , which was filled with sex toys and pornography and had been modified to include a handcuff device on the dashboard. During Dutton's appearance, Judge Christopher J. Donnelly sternly admonished Dutton not to have any contact with the teen or her family.

:This story does go over well with me having a teenage daughter myself just blocks away. It's not just about this teen and her family. He will certainly do it again. This pervert has bad intentions. I think its terrible they can't charge him with more. When, and I say when, not if, he gets his hands on a teen girl, he knows exactly what he is going to do. Handcuffs built in the dash show his intent to keep someone against their will.
