Homewood Gets Green Grant from ComEd

The money will go towards replacing a footbridge at Izaak Walton Preserve.

Homewood’s Izaak Walton Preserve received a $2,112.50 Green Region grant from ComEd and Openlands to replace a footbridge at trail marker BR0.11.

The current bridge was built in 1978 from salvaged materials, but it’s not holding up so well.

Homewood was one of 17 municipalities and non-profits to receive a Green Region grant this year.
