Homewood No. 3 on CNN Money's Most Affordable Homes List

Homewood is among 25 growing towns where residents' income goes the furthest, according to CNN money.

Homewood is ranked third in a CNN Money article showcasing growing towns with affordable homes across the country. The median home price around town is $100,000, while the median family income hovers around $86,683

"Homewood boasts a large creative class -- many residents are musicians, designers, art curators and educators," reads the article. "And low real estate prices here make it easier for them to follow their muses."

According to the article, a two-bedroom condo regularly goes for roughly $60,000. On the other end of the spectrum, a 4,000-sq.-ft. Homewood home will go for about $400,000.

"The town feels very walkable, but cyclists will find plenty of paths and storefront bike racks … The town has 60 events a year, ranging from an art and garden fair to movies in the park."
