Homewood PR Manager Stepping Down from Full-time Role

Jones will transition into a consultant role with the village.

Homewood’s public relations and special events manager Rachael Jones will leave her full-time role and instead become a consultant.

Jones, 37, who has been with the village since 2005, told Sun-Times Media that she is leaving to be “a better mom for the two most important parts of my life”—children Nathanael, 5, and Evelyn, 2.

Her marketing expertise helped Homewood flourish, also earning her the accolade of 2014 Economic Development Leader of the Year by the South Suburban Small Business Association. She attributes the award to the SSSBA's appreciation of Homewood 's featured Richard Haas murals, the 2013 “Zombie Paradise” videos and the “Pop Up Shops."

Jones chooses now to focus on her family and husband Christopher.

“I don’t leave Homewood for a full-time position somewhere else, rather to better focus on the one I have juggled while managing the many successful projects and events for the Village,” Jones told Sun-Times Media.
