The Homewood Veterans Memorial got a recent addition in honor our area’s service men and women.
Now, every day at dusk, a newly installed sound system plays a pre-recorded track of ‘Taps.’
Money for the project was generously donated by Mike Ryan of Ryan and Tews Funeral Home, as well as Homewood’s VFW post 8077.

According to Ryan, the village had been researching the installation for the past year or so before they approached him for a donation.
“It’s a good thing,” Ryan humbly commented.
