Memorial Day Parade, H-F Science Pub and a Bike Rodeo: 5 Things to Know

H-F Patch lets you know what events and activities you can look forward to in and around H-F in the upcoming week.

(Monday, May 30)

On Monday, the parade will start lining up at 9:30 a.m. and will begin at 10:30 a.m. at . It will travel south on Dixie Highway to Olive Road and west to Harwood Avenue, stopping at Veterans Park for a ceremony.

Homewood-Flossmoor Science Pub Meeting (Tuesday, May 31)

Science enthusiasts rejoice! The H-F Science Pub's next meeting will be this Tuesday at 8 p.m. at .

The May event is entitled "The Incomplete ANGLER or Fishing for Creatures from the Black Lagoon" and will feature Dr. Michael Coates from the University of Chicago. The H-F Science Pub meets once a month. Any and all are welcome to participate.

(Friday, June 3 & Saturday, June 4)

The Friends of the Quarterly Used Book Sale on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. 

However, Friends members are invited to preview and purchase sale items on Friday evening from 6:00-8:30 p.m., before the sale opens to the general public.  Memberships may be renewed on preview night and dues are only $5.00 for the calendar year.

(Saturday, June 4)

From 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. on Saturday, there will be a 10-station circuit of bike-safety exercises for the whole family at . Once the circuit has been completed, the participants' names will be entered into a raffle for great prizes, including a new bike!   
 
The event will also include an interactive emergency vehicle display, an inflatable bouncer, a trike safety course, and much more.

H-F High School Graduation and Celebration (Sunday, June 5)

Come help the seniors celebrate their big day on Sunday at  1 p.m. at the H-F High School Stadium.

Afterwards, graduates are invited to attend "Project Graduation" at Odyssey Fun World from 10:30 p.m. until 5 a.m. The event includes food, game tokens, laser tag, mini golf, go-carts, batting cages and giveaways.
