Police Attack, Flossmoor Fest and Bergstein’s Deli: Feedback Friday

The  and the H-F Patch Facebook page have both been teeming with activity over the past week. Here’s a few samples of what’s on the community’s mind as of late.

: I love Bergsteins!! The fact that is only blocks from my house makes it even better!!

James O'Shea: I love their whitefish salad. Tastes like the stuff I got back home in NY

: The Rachel is the best sandwich I've ever had.

: Best. Deli. Ever! Not only did they do our sandwiches for the last 5 weekends of my campaign but the whole staff all practically lived in the deli for the whole stretch! The soups rock, especially in the fall! I'm in love! Senator Toi

: Can't. Stop. Eating. Brisket. I try, I really do, to order something new when I go in, but I am so in love with the brisket sandwich. Also, the potato knish is heavenly.

Sonnie Birch: Thick, delicious warm turkey, swiss, cole slaw, special sauce, all on the best pretzel roll ever created. It is a messy, amazing piece of heaven. Okay, now I'm hungry...

: The Smoke Daddy sandwich is OUT OF THIS WORLD!!! I love the place and appreciate their supporting local musicians with an Open Mic Night every other Thursday...so literally, Bergstein's ROCKS!!! Thank You, Thank You, Thank You :)

Patricia Ohanian Lundstrom: I really liked the way the kid's evens in the park went - very smoothly, no chaos, just a happy, happy fun place!

: Flossmoor Fest was fantastic, as it normally is. I am. Homewood resident now, but grew up in Flossmoor. I much prefer Flossmoor Fest now that we have young children. It's the perfect family event; great for kids of all ages! Just enough to do, without making it a circus. And best of all, it showcases the LOCAL restaurants, businesses, and organizations!

: I agree - Homewood should take notes, the last Homewood days was a pretty sad event in my opinion. Personally I think they should forget the bands that draw the wrong crowds or give tickets to Homewood residents and sell them at a very high price for non-residents. Homewood people support Homewood and the village should support and entertain them first.

: What are they raising in flossmoor now? Got to be two of the dumbest brothers in town.

: Sometimes we get teen-aged smokers, sometimes we get this...

: I think it is time for a long overdue timeout for these boys. Maybe their parents also need to take a time out to learn what parenting responsibilities are. If they haven't learned by now, when will they? This is disturbing that they have such disrespect for the law. Maybe next time the cops won't be using a tazer on them but something else.
