Senior 'Kuvi' Loves a Good Belly Rub: Adopt Me!

This week's featured pet from South Suburban Humane Society is a schnauzer/yorkie mix.

Everyone loves a puppy up for adoption. Potential owners swoon over their bright eyes, wriggling bodies and waggly tails.

But senior dogs like Kuvi need homes, too.

Ten-year-old schnauzer/yorkie mix Kuvi is quiet and sweet—only barking when it's time for her dinner. She gets along swell with her foster friends, ranging from Dobermans to Chihuahuas. She handles the wait of a regular workday well, but occasionally has to use a puppy pad while she works on housebreaking.

She'll need some time to settle into her new surroundings, but after a couple of days will open up and make herself right at home. She sweetly rolls over and offers her belly for a good scratching, and eats her dinner "like a little lady" and enjoys nibbling on treats.
