Southshore Car and Coffee at Flossmoor Station

Over twenty remarkable cars were on display at the fourth Southshore Car and Coffee event last Saturday at the Flossmoor Station Restaurant and Brewery.

An assortment of cars ranging from as current as the 2011 Tesla to as dated as the 1931 Ford Model A gathered at the parking lot last Saturday to be on display for the fourth installment in a series of six Southshore Cars and Coffee events during the summer season.

The event was created in 2011 by fellow car buffs Rum Chopra and Dwight Tyndall in honor of their love for — you guessed it — cars and coffee.

So far, an average of 20-30 cars each month have been coming out to participate in the event, according to Chopra. While the turnout is consistently good, he said he hope to see an increase in attendance and even more exotic, classic and antique cars.

Two more Cars and Coffee events remain in the series. The next will be held on Aug. 27 followed by the last on Sept. 24. Each Cars and Coffee event starts at 8 a.m. and ends at 11 a.m.
