"It's nice to be among people that stay active," said Parker. "(This group) may encourage people who are sitting on the fence."

According to Molski, there is no ideal candidate for the group. Whether your an Iron Man triathlon athlete, an 84-year-old avid runner or simply a couch potato (all of whom were present at the gathering), the group is welcoming.

"There's been a real, good, positive response so far," said Molski's husband, Tony.

The sports enthusiasts even have a Facebook page for members to interact. The following is taken from their info section:

Our goal is to provide a place for networking and camaraderie among like-minded, health-conscious individuals. Everyone is welcome from runners, walkers, yoga students, weekend warriors, physical therapists, nutritionists, chiropractors, massage therapists, golfers, tennis players, swimmers, race directors and yes, even couch-potatoes!

While some ambiguity remains, the sports enthusiasts have already taken a survey in hopes to assess the wants and needs of current members and to further define the role of the group. If you are interested in joining and chiming in on the conversation, check out their Facebook page and speak up!
