You Told Us: WiffleFest Could Get Bigger and Better

The best thing about Patch is you, and we love it when you post information that the community cares about (or should). Here's a roundup of announcements submitted by Patch readers recently.

WiffleFest Won't Whiff

With any luck, this year's Wifflefest will knock one out of the park, thanks to a little $2,700 boost from the Chicago Southland Convention and Visitors Bureau.

Wifflefest is a wiffle ball tournament for 18-35 year olds on July 21, 2012. Participants compete in two divisions: recreational and fast pitch. The Homewood-Flossmoor Park District is expanding this tournament. This grant will cover 60 percent of advertising in publications at the following universities: Ohio State University, Indiana University, University of Wisconsin-Madison, and the University of Cincinnati. The grant will also cover 60 percent of the radio spots to be aired on B96 and online advertising.
