H-F Theatre: Group Interpretation & Contest Play Performances

H-F Theatre students will offer public performances before they head down to the IHSA Sectional Competition at Thornton High School on March 17 and - hopefully - the State Competition on March 24 in Springfield. All community members are invited to view and critique, as well as engage in a question-and-answer session with the students and directors at performances on March 15, beginning at 7 p.m.

The Group Interpretation (GI) performance, Mother Hicks, is a Great Depression story, taking place in Southern Illinois. GI features a unique mix of drama, public speaking and live music with a 30-min. time limitation. Performers are: Abe Van Heest, Anna Meehan, Donyae Lewis, Giandrea Buckley, Gloria Petrelli, Joshua Miller, Maddie Schmidt, Rachel Latsos, Reggie Hamilton & Sean Dolan.

Our Contest Play this year is The Dream of the Burning Boy, a story about the sudden death of a student and its effect on his classmates, teacher and school. The play is limited to 40 minutes. The cast is Paul Spaniak, Christopher Kelley, CJ Butler, Charlie Bialobok, Kirsten Hedrick, Asmera Smith & Jade Groble.
