Mokena, IL:  The Lake Shore Chapter of the Links Annual Fundraiser: Mardi Gras with Soul 2012 celebrates another year of impacting the West Side of Chicago at DiNolfo’s Banquet Hall on Sunday, March 25, 2012 at 3:00 PM (More details below). 

Join Links Fundraiser Chair, LaShondra Peebles, Co-Chair Gale Foster Farley and the Lake Shore Chapter members as they prepare a fabulous Sunday afternoon of dinner, dancing, entertainment, gaming, caricature portraitist, and friendship at one of Chicago’s Southside beautifully adorned banquet facility complete with free parking.

The Lake Shore Chapter (LSC) of the Links, Incorporated have provided community services since 1996. The LSCs primary focus is to provide educational, cultural, and financial support to enrich the lives of youth residing on the West Side of Chicago. The annual fundraiser is planned for March, 25, 2012 to raise funds for college scholarships, youth mentoring and cultural programs, and job preparedness workshops to meet the needs of women living in temporary shelters. The LSCs global initiative is providing clean water wells for children living in Africa. The Links are comprised of civic-minded professional women concerned with the much larger issue of the future of Black women and children. The LSC of the Links have organized a dinner and dance to raise money to do what First Lady Michelle Obama has called for, that is, to know that the only limit to the height of your achievements is the reach of your dreams and your willingness to work for them!
