The Christmas Schooner - Musical

After a highly praised production in 2010, The St. Andrew Players will once again present, The Christmas Schooner, at the beginning of December.  This is a heart-warming, full-length musical production, that recalls the true story of the “Christmas Tree Ship” that introduced the tradition of the Christmas tree to Chicago, With wonderful music and moving dialogue, the show tells of the schooner, Rouse Simmons, lost at sea in a November gale, and the family who continued to bring trees to Clark Street Dock, despite its lost loved ones.  Christmas Schooner audiences are reminded of the traditions we maintain in our own families in order to know “the true meaning of Christmas”.
